This section prepares design plans and specifications for construction and maintenance of the City Capital Improvement Projects. The areas of responsibility include administering the City’s Pavement Management Program and design consultant contracts. In addition, it reviews and approves engineering submittals, including improvement plans, material reports, utility work, engineering estimates, and ADA accessibility. This section is also responsible for securing street improvement competitive grants.

Storm drain improvements are also included in this section. The major areas of responsibility include the design and construction management of the City’s Storm Drain System (approximately 42 miles of storm drain), as it relates to the implementation of the Master Drainage Plan.
