The Facilities Maintenance Section is responsible for general maintenance and repair of all City owned buildings. The City's twenty-one facilities include all Civic Center buildings, six fire stations, the Corporation Yard, Historical Society, Police Substation, Mesa Verde Library, Donald Dungan Library, Balearic Center, Downtown Recreation Center, Senior Center, and the Costa Mesa Tennis Club.
The maintenance and repair of these facilities include painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, janitorial, as well as the operation, service and maintenance of HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems.
A combination of City staff and contract services perform the maintenance efforts. Staff members are skilled in painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, welding, minor roofing, window repair, painting and locks.
