Fire Prevention Week is October 7- 13, 2012. The Costa Mesa Fire Department will host Open House events at all fire stations on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Station #1 – 2803 Royal Palm Drive

Station #2 – 800 Baker Street

Station #3 – 1865 Park Street

Station #4 – 2300 Placentia Avenue

Station #5 – 2450 Vanguard Way

Station #6 – 3350 Sakioka Drive

During Fire Prevention Week pick up a free home escape plan grid from one of the stations listed above and complete your home escape plan.  Home escape plans are a critical component to home fire safety.  A home escape plan should show every room in the home and two ways to escape from each room. Home escape plans should include a safe family meeting spot like a tree, mailbox, or neighbor’s driveway. Smoke alarm and utility locations should be included on the home escape plan.  A well practiced plan can help save lives. Plans should be posted and reviewed annually. All stations will have fire and life safety materials to distribute. An easy to use, downloadable grid is also available on the city’s website fire department page at www.costamesaca.gov.
