Clybourne Park Costa Mesa Playhouse Performance

For the second production of its 57th season, the Costa Mesa Playhouse is presenting Bruce Norris’ “Clybourne Park,” winner of both the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award for Best Play. Performances are January 20 through February 12, 2023.

Inspired by Lorraine Hansberry’s “A Raisin In The Sun,”
“Clybourne Park” is a provocative comedy/drama set before and after the events of Hansberry’s play. Act One takes place in 1959, as white community leaders anxiously try to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in 2009, as the
now predominantly black neighborhood battles to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

“Clybourne Park” is directed by Michael Serna and performed by Cody Hanify, Peter Hilton, Mia Josimovic, Ja'lil Nelson, Kendall Sinclair, Taj Young, and Mark Tillman.

Performances are January 20 through February 12, Fridays & Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm, with one Thursday performance at 8pm on February 2. The January 20 and February 2 performances are both
“pay what you will.” For all other performances tickets are $28 for adults, and $25 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at www.costamesaplayhouse.com or by calling 949-650-5269.
