SOCO Farmers' Market’s Spring Young Makers’ Market

On Saturday, April 1st, from 9am-12pm, youth artisans from across Orange County will be selling their handmade crafts at the SOCO Farmers' Market’s Spring Young Makers’ Market. Talented crafters will gain entrepreneurial experience, displaying their creations before the public, manning their market booths, and making sales alongside farmers and food producers. Plan A Day Out , a favorite local family-friendly activities website, is sponsoring this feel-good family event. All proceeds from sales made at the Youth Makers Market will go to the young artists themselves.

“All kids are makers,” said Mark Anderson, Founder of Farmer Mark Farmers’ Markets, the organization that runs the SOCO Farmers’ Market. "As a long-time farmers’ market operator and a father of three young kids, I want to encourage small entrepreneurs as well as small businesses.”

Young people, ages 5-15, who are interested in vending can apply for booth space at farmermark.com. Successful applicants can reserve their booth space with a $5 donation which will be used to provide fruits and vegetables for families struggling to overcome homelessness. The market Info Booth will facilitate credit card purchases. Only handmade, craft items may be sold – no food or drink, no used or resold items will be allowed. See our Youth Market FAQs for more information.

The SOCO Farmers' Market takes place every Saturday, from 9am-2pm in the parking lot of SOCO and the OC Mix. The market boasts an array of local and organic vendors with fruits, vegetables, prepared foods, artisan goods, and hosts a weekly kid’s craft.
