- The City of Costa Mesa requires that all park users comply with the general rules. All park users must comply with the following requirements:
Use of E-bikes, E-scooters, and other electric motor-powered vehicles is prohibited on all Fairview Park unpaved surfaces. Use of E-bikes, E-scooters, and other electric motor-powered vehicles within the boundaries of Fairview Park will only be permitted by patrons using designated paved roadways, bike paths, and multi-purpose paths (See map below). Sur-Rons or other electric motorized vehicles capable of speeds greater than 28 mph are prohibited throughout the premises of Fairview Park. - No combustion powered vehicles, dirt bikes, or other combustion powered vehicles of any kind shall be allowed on park grounds, trails, or paths.
- E-bikes entering Fairview Park may only be operated on designated paved surfaces at a safe rate of speed, and in a responsible and cautious manner. A safe rate of speed for E-bikes, pedal bicycles, and all other mounted and wheeled vehicles in Fairview Park shall be defined as:
- A maximum of 12 mph when no pedestrians are present
- A maximum of 8 mph when pedestrians are present
- Users on e-bikes and electric motor-powered vehicles shall always yield the right of way to pedestrians, maintenance vehicles, wheelchairs, and other bicyclists.
- Remote-controlled cars, trucks, and other remote-controlled motorized vehicles are prohibited.
- Operators of E-bikes and other motor-powered vehicles are responsible for damages and injuries resulting from the operation of motor-powered vehicles in Fairview Park.
