Introduction
The Fairview Park Master Plan was originally approved in March of 1998, subsequently revised in February 2001, and again in November 2002. The Master Plan provides “a framework for future park improvements which can be constructed in an orderly and consistent manner.” Master plans are living documents that need to be updated when the goals, community needs, new technologies, and regulations change. In April 2013, the Costa Mesa City Council voted to reconvene the Fairview Park Advisory Committee to look at several issues involving the park.
The Committee is currently on hiatus until the update of the City's Open Space Master Plan of Parks and Recreation is completed in the spring 2016.
Mission
Evaluate the Fairview Park Master Plan relative to community needs and make Master Plan update recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Commission and City Council for the addition, reduction, elimination, or modification of park uses and master planned elements.
