Dear Potential Sponsor,
Costa Mesa is already known as one of Orange County’s leading cities, with premier entertainment venues, leading educational facilities and world class shopping. But Costa Mesa also has a rich and diverse heritage dating back thousands of years and is integrated throughout our community. From Fairview Park to the Segerstrom House to the Diego Sepulveda Adobe, Costa Mesa boasts a large number of historic structures and sites interspersed within a modern, urban environment.
Preserving and promoting our community’s heritage is the mission of the city’s Historical Preservation Committee, which is made up of community volunteers and is fully self-supported. In recent years, the Committee has executed a number of educational initiatives designed to inform residents and visitors about our community’s history. For example, the Committee:
- Partners with the Costa Mesa Historical Society on various projects
- Produced a revised “Story of Costa Mesa” children’s history
- Produced a “Guide to Costa Mesa’s Historic Buildings”
- Installed markers along Newport Boulevard denoting historic sites
- Developed an on-line children’s activity book relating to Costa Mesa history
As a self-supporting Committee, all funding for initiatives such as those listed above must come from the community—we receive no funding from the city. Attached you will find information about ways you or your business can help support the mission of the Historical Preservation Committee.
By participating as a sponsor, you or your organization will be supporting the preservation of Costa Mesa’s unique heritage and making sure that generations to come know that heritage. We hope that you’ll review the attached brochure and consider supporting the Costa Mesa Historical Preservation Committee.
Respectfully,
Costa Mesa Historical Preservation Committee
