Welcome to the City Clerk's Election home page. Here you will find helpful and useful information relative to the City's 2024 election.

The City’s next General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Costa Mesa voters will elect three residents to serve a four-year term on the City Council, one from Districts 1, 2, and 6. In addition, Costa Mesa voters will elect a Mayor to serve a two-year term.

The candidate filing period began on July 15, 2024 and ended on August 9, 2024. The filing period for District 1 was extended 5 days to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 because the incumbent did not file. 

The Statement of Write-In Candidacy form and Nomination Papers were available from the City Clerk from September 09, 2024 through October 22, 2024.
