1. Go here: www.costamesaca.gov/tessa and click Login or Register.

2. Enter your email.

3. If you know your password you would select that option. If you forgot your password, you may select Email. A verification code will be sent to your email coming from Community Access. To reset your password, you will select the password option then select Forgot Password.

4. Click on My Work and under My Licenses down below you will see the business information with a blue renew option. Click on Renew.

5. It's a four-step process. The first step will let you know what type of license you are renewing and select Next.

6. The second step will ask you for Today's Month you will enter the current number month. For example, January you will enter 1, February enter 2, March enter 3, etc. Same with Month Last Expiration you will enter the number month the license will expire on. In the Annual Gross Receipts/Annual Expenses field do not include a comma.

7. The third step is attachments, no attachments needed. You may select Next.

8. The last step is to review the information entered. Once you submit the renewal information and it's reviewed by staff, an invoice will be created and you will be notified via email. Then you will log back into your TESSA portal and make a payment under My Work, My Invoices using a Visa, Master Card, or E-check. Check/money order payments may be mailed out to City of Costa Mesa PO Box 1200 Costa Mesa, CA 92628-1200 Attn: Business License.
