Firefighter/Paramedic candidates who are selected to continue in the recruitment process will be tested on their fundamental knowledge of pre-hospital medicine as it relates to the National Registry standard. Candidates should have a firm grasp on the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and treatment rationale for the more common complaints seen in the pre-hospital scene. The testing environment will consist of a panel of graders in a dynamic interaction with the candidates as they perform assessments and answer questions related to their treatment choices.
