Area 2 Command is overseen Lieutenant Matt Grimmond.  He has been with the Costa Mesa Police Department for over 27 years. He has worked in Investigative Services, Community Policing as well as Field Training and Traffic Safety. He has earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Public administration. He has been in Area Command since 2022.  Additionally, Lt. Grimmond manages the department’s South Coast Plaza Detail, and Field Training Program.
