The Equipment (Fleet) Maintenance Section procures, services, repairs, and salvages most city vehicles, equipment and off-road equipment. Our fleet consists of approximately 320 vehicles, including alternative fueled vehicles, light and heavy duty trucks, fire apparatus, ambulances, police vehicles, police motors and street maintenance equipment. This section also maintains fabricates modifications for vehicles and specialized equipment at the request of City departments; and is responsible for the procurement, storage and maintenance of fuel depots including regular, diesel, propane and natural gas.
This section also serves as an Internal Service Fund established to finance and account for the maintenance, replacement and acquisition of all motorized equipment used by City departments.
A combination of City staff and contract services perform the maintenance efforts.
